You’re new to our church - Great! We’re glad to have you exploring a relationship with God in Christ at Fort Collins First United Methodist Church. You may be “window shopping”, comparing the differences and similarities among the various churches in the area, looking seriously for a church home – or all of the above. Whatever it is that brings you to our website, I’m happy you’ve landed here.
Fort Collins First UMC (FC FUMC) is a large church with much to offer in the way of discipleship ministries: worship, Christian education and spiritual formation programs of many types for all ages, fellowship, and multiple ways to serve and reach out to those in our community and around the world who need to experience the love of God in Christ through people whose lives have been touched by God. At the same time, we have a caring, family-type environment where all are welcome – all. And that means you!
Please explore the rest of the website, following the links that may be of interest to you to learn more about who we are, what our passions are, and where you might find a place with us in ministry – whether you’re a longtime “church type” or seeking a relationship with God in Christ for the first time. If there is anything any of us here at FC FUMC can do to help you connect with us, please be in touch (phone numbers and e-mail addresses are listed in multiple places on the site). And if I personally can be of any assistance to you, I hope you won’t hesitate to let me know. “Open Hearts, Open Doors, Open Minds” is more than a slogan; it’s the way we live here at FC FUMC. I hope you’ll join us!
Yours in Christ, Steve Easterday-McPadden (

What is the difference between the 4 morning services?
8:00, 9:15, and 10:45 am Services: The music in these services is led by our Sanctuary Choir (Not 8:00) and accompanied by our magnificent organ. We sing from the hymnal a few times during the service. Our Director of Children's Ministry, Beverly Halperin, gives the children's message before the kids are excused for Sunday school. Then Pastor Steve or one of our other clergy preaches a sermon.
10:45 am Crosswalk Service:
Crosswalk is our contemporary worship service in the chapel at 10:45. Many college students and young adults attend this service. The music of Crosswalk is a mix of contemporary Christian, World Music, and Jazz. If you are a musician, vocalist or instrumentalist, we always welcome new people to join in our worship band, fish.
All four services serve communion on the first Sunday of each month. Everyone is welcome to take communion from the Lord's table.
What do you offer for children and youth?
We have childcare available in our nursery during all four services. We also offer Sunday school from 9:30 - 10:15 for children and 9:15 - 10:15 for youth. Children are dismissed out of the 9:15 worship service after the children's message, and youth meet in the education wing basement. Please visit our Children and Youth pages for more information.
What do I wear?
We hope you come to church in whatever makes you feel comfortable. We care more about you and your relationship with Jesus then what you look like. Our only request is that you do wear clothes :-)
Where do I go when I get there?
Parking is available on every side of the building, but the main parking lots are located by the south entrance. Our Welcome Center is located at the intersection of the two main hallways of our church, next to the entrance to the sanctuary. Please stop by to check in and get more information!
What happens next?
As you enter one of the services an usher will hand you a weekly bulletin. Please let an usher know if you have special seating needs such as a wheelchair or hearing aid. There will also be a friendship folder in each pew. Please complete the attendance form inside so we know you stopped by! We hope you enjoy our church community and look forward to seeing you soon!
