Richard Rohr's Teachings: Dr. Robert Ludwig, of Loyola University Chicago, will present lectures on the teachings of the famous priest/author at 7 p.m. Oct. 4 and 7 at FUMC in this Theologian in Residence event. Fr. Rohr's teaching is grounded in the Franciscan alternative orthodoxy–practices of contemplation and lived kenosis (self-emptying), expressing itself in radical compassion, particularly for the socially marginalized.

Exploring Christian Funerals: We’ll cover several aspects, including the contemporary memorial service, the traditional funeral, grief, music and leaving instructions for your own service. questions concerning sexuality, homosexuals as persons and homosexuality. Using the Bible and biblical
tools, you are encouraged to explore new and different ways to understand the Bible in its context and what it
means for us today. Guided by Rev. Carol Fox and Rev. David Dalke, participants will experience the process of
careful listening to what the Bible says or means and Biblical interpretation. Sundays, 9-10:30 a.m., Oct. 20 and
