Clean-Up:  The Trustees have scheduled a church clean-up project on Saturday, May 18th from 10 a.m. - 12p.m.  We will be cleaning and raking the lawn and garden areas around the building.  If you can assist with this project please contact Gary Gramlick at 219-0726.
 
4th Annual Memorial Sunday Observance:    Please join us on Sunday, May 26th following the 10:45 a.m. service to honor those we have lost in service to our country and in our family of faith.  A procession will lead us to the Columbarium for a brief service of remembrance followed by a light lunch on the north lawn.
 
Summer Bookmobile: Come to Fellowship Hall at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28th to hear details about last year’s bookmobile and plans for this summer.  A teacher from Putnam will come train us to help kids learn to read.  Email Janet Krech, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Open Mic Night:  Our first was such a hit, that we're hosting another on Friday, May 31st, 7-9 p.m.  Come share your talent: musical instruments, singing, dancing, comedy routine, poetry reading, drama skit, magic tricks, any other talent or just come.  Bring friends and neighbors, too! Vacation Bible School- June 10-14, 2013: Register today in Fellowship Hall or at the church office. Classes are for preschool thru 5th grade; space is limited so sign up soon! This is a great opportunity to volunteer for this awesome week for our children. We need teachers and helpers (snacks, crafts, recreation and more}. Youth Choir Housing:  on June 26th our church will be hosting the Charles Wesley Singers & Academy of St. Cecilia Youth Orchestra from Damascus, Maryland. Following their performance, they will require overnight housing.  If you are willing to host, please fill out one of the yellow inserts found in the bulletin.
 
Are You Gardening This Summer?:   Remember the Food Bank for Larimer County as you plant your garden.  Think of planting an extra row to share with people who are hungry.  They also gladly accept fruits from your trees, canned goods and money to buy food for distribution to those in need.

ONGOING PROGRAMS

Want the Carillon Newsletter? If you are not receiving the church’s newsletter and want it sent to your home, please contact the church office (482-2436) to add your address to this mailing list or ask for a monthly e-mail that will take you to the Carillon newsletter on the church’s website.
   
Wednesday Noon Book Study continues on Wednesdays from 12 noon to 1:00 pm in the Parlor.  We are currently studying Brian McLaren’s book Why Did Jesus, Moses, the Buddha and Mohammed Cross the Road?  Books are available for $14.
 
Book of the Week: Library Hours: Monday-Thursday: 9 am- 8 pm, Friday: 9 am-4 pm, Saturday: 9 am-12 pm and Sunday: 8 am-12:30 pm.
 
Kid’s Closet:  Have your kid’s outgrown some of their clothes?   Our Kid’s Closet is in need of gently used clothes, sizes 0 – teens (no adult clothes please!)  Donations may be brought to the church; drop box is at the bottom of staircase near the church office.  Thanks!
 
Grocery Cards:  Envelopes in the pew pockets – fill out and place in the offering plate; pick up cards in Fellowship Hall after service.
 
Flowers:  Sign up to provide flowers for Sunday mornings; there is a sign up calendar across from the main office. You can have the church’s florist deliver them for $45 or use your own florist.

Free Sunday Worship CDs:  FCFUMC provides, as a free service, audio CDs of the weekly recordings of the service to shut-ins and to all who cannot attend the services.  Call the office to order. CDs may also be purchased at the office for a nominal fee of only $3.  You can also access these recordings on the church’s website @ www.fcfumc.net.
 
Box Tops and Labels for Education:  We are still collecting box tops/labels for education which goes to Putnam Elementary.  Please deposit your labels in the black box located across the church office in the two door cabinet on the right side.
 
 

 YOUTH UPDATE

UMYF:  End of Year Party! Come on down for an end of the year cookout! We will bring yard games and have a blast together before the year ends and summer begins. Meet on the main lawn from 5:00 – 7:00 .pm!

OPPORTUNITIES

Creative Movement-FUMC Co-op Preschool is hiring an early childhood teacher for our physical development enrichment class which fosters large motor development, coordination and creative expression.  Qualifications: Experience teaching young children, prefer background in physical education.  Must be Early Childhood Teacher qualified; a part time position approximately 30 hours per month; hours M-F 8:30 a.m. -12 p.m.  Please send resumes by May 31st to FUMC Co-op Preschool, 1005 Stover St., Ft. Grounds Maintenance Volunteers Needed: We meet on Tuesday mornings from 8:30 - 10:00 a.m.; our duties include sweeping-up, shrub trimming, weeding, painting, etc. Meet us at the garage/shed in the southwest parking lot. Larimer County Food Bank: Our church helps at the Food Bank on the third Thursday of the month. They would like to have 15 workers from 9-11:30 a.m. We need your continued support. The sign-up sheet is in the mission corner of the Fellowship Hall.
