From August until completion, will be “Build Days” for FUMC. We need on-site volunteers each of those days. The detailed schedule and how to volunteer and sign up will be provided later.

Thanks to many generous donors, our FUMC church-sponsored Habitat House has been funded and will be built this year. Hurray!! This is our project. We invite everyone in the church (and others) to come out to the site and help in any way you can. - We need YOUR help!
Blitz Build (7/31 and 8/1) - Sign-up Today
Construction begins with the “blitz-build” on
Friday, July 31 and Saturday, August 1, 2009. This like an old-fashioned barn-raising; the walls and roof will be erected by us in just 2 days. We need 50-60 volunteers to work each day. The results will be dramatic, at the end of the second day, the house will be rough floored, framed, and the roof trusses in place. Don’t miss your chance to participate.

Meet our family - the Garza's
Jennifer Garza and her two children, 16-year old Jose and 9-year old Ysabel, will join all of us who are volunteering to assist in the building process. Jennifer is a single mother and a native to Fort Collins who works at The Women’s Resource Center as a Health Care Specialist. Both Jose and Ysabel attend school in Fort Collins.

Directions to the job site: At the corner of Drake and Timberline, go south on Timberline. Take the first left turn onto Custer. Go to the round a bout and take the first right- Rigden Parkway. After you cross the speed bump the road becomes William Neal Parkway. Turn right at the end of the street on to Chase Drive and look for the construction trailer on your right. Habitat is the only new construction in this area.
